Stow Green Advisory Committee is a town committee focused on creating a climate action plan with specific targets and actions to help align the town with the statewide energy and environmental goals. In addition, it advises the town regarding sustainability with a sensitivity to equity in all aspects of town development and planning.

Sustainable Stow was started in 2007, by a group of town residents interested in taking positive actions to reduce individual and town energy consumption, as well as looking at other steps we can take collectively to build a more sustainable community.

The types of activities we have been involved in include: Stow Solar Challenge, Green Communities designation, energy use reductions for town buildings, MassCEC HeatSmart program, Stow Rain Barrel Program, Stow pollinator pathway. We have also participated in other town-level projects aimed at climate resilience, reducing carbon emissions, educational forums and library presentations including home energy savings, reducing residents' carbon emissions at home, water quality, and perserving our natural resources.
