The City of Newburyport is proud to introduce EnergizeNewburyport – an interactive website designed to help our community take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) and prepare for a changing climate.  Newburyport was designated a Green Community by the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) and is committed to the goal of becoming a Net-Zero city. Ever-increasing energy costs and the continued damaging environmental impacts associated with climate change make this goal more important than ever. The purpose of EnergizeNewburyport is to work together as a community to achieve this critical goal. 

Newburyport’s plan is to move away from oil and gas by transitioning to electric and to increase the renewable energy connected to the grid in an effort to reduce GHGs. To guide you in this process EnergizeNewburyport provides information, resources, and tools to assist you on the path toward cleaner energy use.

On the landing page there are four choices:

• Welcome! - Which is how you reached this page!
• Information and Action - Click on this box to access the many options for learning and to discover actions you can take to reduce your fossil fuel use and transition to cleaner alternatives.
• Upcoming Events – Learn about local and regional information sessions, webinars, in-person events and videos designed to assist you on your path to reducing GHG emissions.
• State and Federal Financial Incentives - Learn about the financail incentives you may be able to use to save money on home energy upgrades, clean vehicles, and more.
