Ditch Disposables

An item that can be used over and over uses many fewer resources than a disposable item that is used only once. Think of all the raw materials it takes to make a paper plate, for example, from the production/manufacturing, through distribution and sale, to the cost of disposing of it.

Save money and reduce your environmental impact by avoiding single use products!

Follow these simple steps to reduce the amount of disposable packaging you consume:

  1. Bring your own (BYO) shopping bag, lunch box, reusable utensils, water bottle, or coffee mug.
  2. Use real plates, cups, utensils, and cloth napkins everyday at home AND for parties/events.
  3. Purchase products in reusable containers from  The Loop Store or  Plaine Products.
  4. Reuse glass containers for food and other storage.
  5. Reuse bags as trash or dog waste bags (bread bags, produce bags, you name it!).
  6. Replace plastic wrap with reusable besswax food wrap found at Lexington Bee Company
